BATTERIES NEED TO BE INSTALLED IN CHARGER AND CHARGED UP FIRST FOR NORMAL OPERATION. Charger is designed to charge the batteries not run a stove by itself. Useful for extended trips and to avoid purchasing disposable AA batteries for the LE and XL stoves.
