Shipping and Payment Policy
We at Kootenay Self Reliance Store (“KSRS”) want your online experience to be enjoyable, simple and successful. To that end, we have created a shipping and payment process to make your life easy.
Shipping Cost:
Shipping is extremely difficult to estimate when you have a large variety of products that vary in both size and weight. If each customer only ordered one item we could accurately estimate each orders shipping cost. However when you add the infinite numbers of combinations with over 350+ products and 10 provinces in Canada, we have not found an accurate method. Therefore, shipping will be calculated after you place your order. We will contact you with the actual shipping cost before we charge your credit card* (for one exception please see below paragraph) and you will have the opportunity at that point to cancel your order, change your order for optimal shipping or approve and confirm your order as you placed it. We know of no other way.
*(There is a minimum shipping amount calculated during the check-out procedure. If your order can be shipped for this amount, we will charge your credit card, process your order and send it to you. If the actual cost of shipping is greater than the minimum you will be notified.)
All orders are shipped via Canada Post Expedited Parcel or Purolator unless otherwise arranged. Once your order is shipped, we will provide you with a tracking number so you can follow the progress of your shipment.

Canadian Company: And proud of it! All prices are in Canadian (CAD) dollars and do not include taxes. Taxes if applicable will be added during the check-out and final payment procedures.
Payment Methods: We accept PayPal, Visa and Mastercard while you are shopping online. We also accept debit if you are picking up your order. To arrange other payment methods please contact us before placing your order.
American Orders: As independent consultants with Shelf Reliance we are now able to offer the complete line of Thrive products, emergency preparedness supplies and food rotation systems through our US site. Please see our website, Click here Thrive USA, for even more products than we can offer in Canada. All prices are in US dollars.
Customs and Brokerage Fees: There are no customs, brokerage or duty fees. We are a Canadian company, remember.
Plain Packaging: Your order will be shipping in a plain box.
Pickup: If you live in or are coming to the Kootenay area and would like to pick-up your order please let us know and we'll have it ready for you.
Delivery Address: We require complete and accurate street addresses and postal codes to assure prompt delivery to you. KSRS will not be responsible if additional shipping charges accrue because of incorrect or incomplete addresses. Shipping to Alternate Addresses
If you prefer, we can ship your order to an address other than your billing address. As a security precaution, please contact your credit card company and add the alternate address to your records. This step helps protect you from fraudulent charges to your credit card.
Freight Bound Shipments: Very large orders and items that are too large or heavy to qualify for our standard shipping rates will be shipped via freight carrier. We can arrange for your shipment to be door-to-door if you would like. You will always be notified of freight charges before your order is processed so that you can confirm and accept them.
Delivery Time: We process all orders during regular business hours (Tues-Sat 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM). We strive to ship within 1-3 business days but sometimes your order can’t be shipped this quickly. We will contact you if there is going to be more than a week delay in shipping your order. Due to their nature some food related items are not always available and we will notify you of the delay.
Please allow 3-10 business days for delivery of orders. The number of days required for delivery, is estimated, but is not guaranteed. Orders to small centers or remote locations may require extra shipping time. In addition, extreme weather conditions and seasonal peaks may cause delivery delays.
The estimated shipment date on your order is based on product availability, payment processing time and does not include transit time. KSRS does not begin payment processing until KSRS receives all of the information that it needs and full payment or a full authorization, in the case of credit card or other payment methods.
KSRS will begin payment processing for orders placed on weekends or holidays on the next business day. Business days are Tuesday through Saturday, excluding statutory holidays.
Shipments from Dealers: KSRS does ship some products from our dealers and manufacturers. This is done to save time in getting your order fulfilled as soon as possible and possible cost savings on shipping.
Back Orders: In the unlikely event that any items in your order are unavailable for immediate delivery, we will ship your entire order when it becomes available and contact you about the delayed shipment.Questions: We pride ourselves on being fair in all dealings with our valued customers.
